Nested Trading Systems is a strategy we have evolved at CTGFutures that is teamed with our Free Weekly Trade Plan for Futures and FOREX markets. Our weekly technical analysis provides us with the general state of the market in question.  Is it a long or a short market and is it worth trading in the coming week?  If we determine the market to be tradeable we then run the CTGFutures Direction Finder System on a 150 Tick chart of that market.  Let us say we are looking for the market to go up in the coming week.  If the Direction Finder system issues a Buy on the 150 Tick chart then we turn on our CTG Trigger System on the shorter term tick chart (either 10 Tick or 30 Tick - depending on the market).  If while the 150 Tick system is still in long mode the 10 Tick issues a buy signal we will enter the market automatically with the Trigger system.  This system is set to Buy Only so if the market moves against us we will be automatically closed out of the long position by the system.  If the 150 Tick chart issues sell signals at any time we disable the Trigger system on the faster chart and stand aside until the conditions are met to trade again.  This method of trading helps us to reduce draw down and enables us to follow many markets simultaneously.

The chart below shows the 150 Tick Director in a Long Position. We therefore act on long signals on the 10 Tick chart.  We configure the CTG Futures Trigger system (on the blue chart) to issue only BUY signals. As long as the 150 Tick chart remains in a long position we keep taking long signals on the 10 Tick chart.
